Dealer Spotlight: Maqcen Excels in the Mexican Marketplace more than 25 Years after becoming an FRD USA Dealer

Its second branch followed in 1998 in Aguascalientes in central Mexico. Since then, Maqcen has grown to include six branches and serves as a distributor for a wide range of equipment brands, including HIAB articulated cranes, MOFFETT truck mounted forklifts, IGSA Generators, FRD USA and more.

In the mid-1990s, Maqcen wanted to expand its offerings to include breakers. Maqcen chose to partner with FRD USA to enter the breaker business, which has proven to be a win-win arrangement.

“FRD breakers have made a successful story through the years Maqcen has been a dealer. It’s evident every time you visit a big project and see our breakers working or when customers come back after years and want to buy another breaker because they are convinced of the brand and after-sales support,” said Luz Maria Reyes, administrative manager for Maqcen.

Speaking of after-sales support, Reyes said that has always been a Maqcen hallmark and is a powerful complement to FRD USA’s commitment to quality, with each dealer branch having a service department and stocking a large inventory of parts. “We have always believed that after-sales service is the key structure of our company and it reinforces the customer’s investment in equipment. That has also been the perfect companion to FRD since their breakers and attachments have been proven to last for years,” she added.

The commitment to after-sales service and support—along with quality equipment—has been important to building long-term relationships. “The best thing about our daily operation is when you see a customer return to buy another breaker or equipment because they have the confidence that Maqcen will help them choose what they really need to fulfill their job, with the assurance that they will have the support to keep the equipment or breaker working,” said Reyes.

Asked about the future of the breaker industry, Reyes said Maqcen has an optimistic outlook, believing that the industry will continue to grow.

“Our customers have seen an increase in productivity when using the correct tool. For example in mining, more companies are using breakers instead of explosives. They have become a safer and better solution, especially with high quality products like the ones manufactured by FRD,” said Reyes.
