Dealer Profile: PacWest Machinery Helps Enable Continued Construction Growth in the Pacific Northwest

PacWest Machinery is the Pacific Northwest dealer for FRD USA, Volvo Construction Equipment and a number of other leading brands of machinery supported from five locations in the two states. As an FRD USA dealer, PacWest provides sales and service to mostly demolition contractors for larger hydraulic breakers and utility contractors for smaller breakers. The longtime partnership between FRD USA and PacWest has proven to be a good fit.

Logue added that FRD’s refurbishing program is a helpful way to quickly provide customers with quality, previously-owned breakers. And with FRD’s stocking program, she said PacWest is able to maintain an inventory of most FRD hydraulic breakers, which is helpful as the dealer works to grow its FRD business through product demos, rentals and word of mouth.

Looking back on the partnership with FRD, Logue recalled one customer that really stood out for the use of FRD breakers to make an indelible mark on downtown Seattle.

Rhine, a large demolition and abatement contractor, was awarded the contract to do demolition work on the old Key Arena to make way for an updated arena to host Seattle’s new National Hockey League team, the Seattle Kraken, and the WNBA’s Seattle Storm. Rhine purchased nine FRD breakers in one year to help with the demolition on this major project.

“FRD attachments are high quality, so they were the perfect choice for the demolition work that had to be done to remake this iconic arena in the heart of Seattle,” said Logue.
