AHD709 – VERSATILE AND APPLICABLE TO A WIDE RANGE OF CRUSHING OPERATIONS
Turn your excavator into a hydraulic drill rig. The FRD AHD709 uses the proven HD709 drifter for 2.5″–3.5″ blast holes in quarries, site development and hard-to-reach benches.
The AHD709 mounts to the end of a hydraulic excavator’s arm and turns it into a production rock drill. It uses the same damper-equipped HD709 drifter that powers FRD’s HCR910-DS crawler drill, so you get proven hydraulic drilling performance without buying a dedicated rig.
When you need more production than a pneumatic drill can give you, or when the ground is too rough or unstable for a crawler, the AHD709 lets your excavator’s reach and mobility do the work.

AHD709 ATTACHMENT HYDRAULIC DRILL APPLICATIONS
Proven HD709 drifter. This is the same hydraulic drifter FRD uses in its crawler drill line. A dual damper system absorbs reflected shock energy, which protects the drifter and the steel and keeps penetration rates high, hole after hole.
Faster than pneumatic drilling. Hydraulic percussion at 2,250–2,500 blows per minute drills faster and straighter than air-powered top-hammer drills. Your productivity goes up and your compressor fuel costs come down.
Lower cost of entry. The AHD709 runs on your own excavator’s hydraulics, so it costs far less to own than a self-contained hydraulic crawler drill. Your capital stays in the machines you already run.
Reach where crawlers can’t go. The excavator’s long reach and stable footing let you drill across a wide area from one position. That matters on rough benches, in early-stage quarry development, on slopes, and on narrow ledges where setting up a crawler is slow or unsafe.
One machine, more uses. When the drilling is done, swap back to a bucket, breaker or other attachment. One carrier can handle drilling, breaking and loading on the same site.
PNEUMATIC DRIFTER
The PD200 pneumatic drifter has a large bore (130 mm) cylinder, providing a powerful drive for the rapid and reliable hammering action. A dependable and durable geared motor as well as an independent rotation device further ensure outstanding drilling performance. The drifter can withstand severe working conditions, and can also easily handle a wide range of jobs involving various kinds of rock. A variety of bits ranging in size from 64 mm to 102 mm are available.
